They are remarkably stronger than disposable batteries such as AA, AAA alkaline batteries. Normally flashlight 18650 battery is an individual battery cell comes with PCM at bottom side, button top type, so the voltage is 3.7V
Different torch requires different lumens, it decides what current is needed, especially outdoor sports torch, used for survive or military etc, you need to choose high drain 18650 cells.
Power bank
I don’t think you are unfamiliar for power banks, in daily life we use it charge our phone, macbook etc, it is one of the most common home electric device.
A power bank is consist of plastic case, battery and bms (3.7V to 5V). Nowdays power bank may use lipo or 18650 cells, it depends on the structure.
Normally thin and slim power bank may choose lipo cell, 18650 cells will make the power bank thick.
Current market there are many public plastic case to allow DIY assembly, from 1 cell to 15 cells, then the capacity can reach 50Ah, big guy lol.
Laptop
Same as power bank, laptop is common electronic device in daily life as well.
Normally a special bms is included, which could protect laptop from high heat even fire. Usually it is 3s 10.8v or 4s 14.4v.

Want to decorate your garden? Then you have to use power tool, a portable power tool normally use high drain 18650 battery cell, 5C 10C 15C or more.
Electric vehicle
Electric bicycle, scooter, wheelchair, tourist car etc, these electric vehicles mainly use 18650 battery packs, it is motive battery pack, voltage will be 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V, 52V, 60V, 72V and so on. The common point is they are at least 3C cell, besides as there are many battery cells in series and parallel, it is necessary to match these cells well, the difference of voltage, capacity and internal resistance have to be low.
