What is the battery cell grade?
What is the battery cell grade
There will be a data sheet for each model battery cell, after battery cell production, factory will select qualified battery cell according to data sheet, all parameters should meet the datasheet. We call them grade A battery cell.
Grade B cells are the battery cells which don’t meet the datasheet on a few parameters ( minimum capacity, internal impedance, discharge current, appearance and so on)
Grade C cells are the battery cells whose one or more parameters are far away from datasheet, usually they will be discarded or sold to packing factory in low price.
Used cells are taken apart from battery packs, these battery packs may be used for electric vehicles, e-bikes, power tools and may have been used for a few or hundreds cycles. trade company will purchase them from recycled company and do the disassembly, these cells may be sold to battery cell dealers, battery packing factory, community or other institute.
The battery cell grade is applied to rechargeable battery include lithium ion lion battery, lithium polymer battery, lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePo4), nickel metal hydrogen battery (NiMH).
