Western European Customer Faces Customs Delay on Shipment; Cestpower Offer Flexible Solution
In May this year, a European client placed a bulk order of 21700 lithium-ion battery packs, which were shipped by sea to Europe. However, in June, the shipment encountered an unexpected customs inspection at the Port of Piraeus, Greece. According to local media reports, Greek authorities have intensified customs checks following an investigation into fraudulent practices at the port, leading to extended clearance times for certain cargo.
Customs Delay Creates Supply Chain Challenge
The inspection process, as reported by Naftemporiki, may last significantly longer than usual, causing uncertainty in delivery schedules. For the European client awaiting these battery packs, this posed a serious risk to their supply chain continuity and production planning.
Cestpower Acts to Protect Customer Interests
In response to this challenge, Cestpower entered into repeated discussions with our customer to find practical solution. Ultimately, the company decided to produce an additional batch of 21700 battery packs to ensure that the client’s operations would not be disrupted.
Flexible Payment Arrangement
To reduce financial pressure on the customer, Cestpower offered an exceptional arrangement: the new batch would be shipped with only 60% of the payment required upfront, while the remaining 40% would be settled once the first shipment clears customs and is delivered.
Commitment to Long-Term Partnerships
This approach highlights Cestpower’s customer-centric philosophy—prioritizing clients’ needs, mitigating risks, and lowering operational costs wherever possible. By taking proactive steps, Cestpower not only safeguarded our client’s interests but also reinforced trust and long-term cooperation in the European market.
